Exmouth

Exmouth is a town on the tip of the North West Cape in Western Australia. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Yardie Creek and Charles Knife Canyon. Take a break from the city and head to Turquoise Bay and Ningaloo Reef. Next up on the itinerary: see what you can catch with a fishing tour, view the masterpieces at The Ningaloo Gallery, take an exotic tour of a safari tour, and look for all kinds of wild species at Jurabi Turtle Centre.

Perth to Exmouth is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. Prepare for somewhat warmer weather when traveling from Perth in April: high temperatures in Exmouth hover around 38°C and lows are around 23°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 4th (Tue) early enough to travel to Rottnest Island.

Rottnest Island is an island off the coast of Western Australia, located 18km west of Fremantle. Escape the urban bustle at Salmon Bay and Geordie Bay. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Bathurst Lighthouse and Salt Store Gallery and Exhibition Centre. There's lots more to do: kick back and relax at West End, enjoy the sea views from Wadjemup Lighthouse, appreciate the history behind Roland Smith Memorial, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Parakeet Bay.

You can do a combination of bus and ferry from Exmouth to Rottnest Island in 7.5 hours. Another option is to do a combination of car and ferry. In May, Rottnest Island is slightly colder than Exmouth - with highs of 25°C and lows of 11°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 7th (Fri) early enough to travel to Margaret River.

Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
Get outdoors at Elephant Rocks and Goode Beach. Do some cultural sightseeing at Singlefile Wines and Old Farm, Strawberry Hill. Get out of town with these interesting Albany side-trips: Plantagenet Wines (in Mount Barker), Granite Skywalk,Castle Rock (in Porongurup National Park) and Denmark (Harewood Forest & Ocean Beach). There's still lots to do: make a trip to Field of Light: Avenue of Honour, stroll through Ellen Cove Boardwalk, contemplate the long history of Point King Lighthouse, and get great views at Padre White Lookout.

Drive from Margaret River to Albany in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of bus and flight. Expect a daytime high around 22°C in May, and nighttime lows around 10°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 15th (Sat) to allow time for travel back home.
