Santiago tourism thrives largely thanks to the city's big selection of cultural and entertainment options, including museums, theaters, restaurants, bars, and giant malls.
La Chascona and Iglesia de La Merced are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Visit Centro Cultural Palacio de la Moneda y Plaza de la Ciudadania and Iglesia de San Lazaro for their historical value. Get out of town with these interesting Santiago side-trips: La Sebastiana (in Valparaiso) and Concha y Toro (in Pirque). There's lots more to do: get great views at San Cristóbal Hill, hunt for treasures at Central Market (Mercado Central), and buy something for everyone on your list at Costanera Center.
