Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
Attractions like Triglav National Park and Bled Castle make great kid-friendly stops. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Ljubljana: Bled (Mala Osojnica, Spa Park, &more) and Vintgar Gorge (in Zgornje Gorje). Spend the 28th (Sat) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. A bridge between the Mediterranean and alpine regions of Slovenia, Koper is a small town with big appeal.
Kids will appreciate attractions like Magical World of Shells Museum and Strunjan Nature Reserve. Take a break from Koper with a short trip to Predjama Castle in Postojna, about 54 minutes away. And it doesn't end there: Head underground at Škocjan Caves, examine the collection at Sergej Mašera Maritime Museum, see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour, and get great views at Strunjan Cliff.
