— 15 nights

Eternal City

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Step out of Rome to go to Tivoli and see Villa d'Este, which is approximately 48 minutes away. There's lots more to do: pause for some serene contemplation at St. Peter's Basilica, appreciate the extensive heritage of Piazza Navona, wander the streets of Trastevere, and delve into the distant past at Palatine Hill.

If you are flying in from Slovakia, the closest major aiports are Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, Ciampino–G. B. Pastine International Airport and Perugia San Francesco d'Assisi – Umbria International Airport. In December, daytime highs in Rome are 16°C, while nighttime lows are 4°C.
