Bucharest

The booming city of Bucharest is a sophisticated metropolis with a high contrast of old- and new-world architecture.
When in Bucharest, make a side trip to see Therme București in Balotesti, approximately Balotesti away. Spend the 2nd (Sun) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. There's much more to do: get a sense of history and politics at Palace of Parliament, walk around Herăstrău Park, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Stavropoleos Monastery, and take in the local highlights with Walking tours.

Change things up with a short trip to Castelul Corvinilor in Hunedoara (about 1h 20 min away).
