Built on seven hills, Lisbon has experienced a renaissance in recent years, making it the cultural star of Portugal.
Step out of the city life by going to Parque Natural da Arrabida and Praia Foz do Arelho. Relax by the water at Praia da Nazare and Baleal Beach. There's still lots to do: make a trip to Belém Tower, observe the fascinating underwater world at Lisbon Oceanarium, and pause for some photo ops at Arco do Triunfo.

Montreal, Canada to Lisbon is an approximately 10.5-hour flight. The time zone changes from Eastern Standard Time to Western European Time, which is usually a 5 hour difference. The allure of the beaches and the town's historical center draw visitors to Lagos, a coastal destination in the Barlavento region of the Algarve.
Get in touch with nature at Ponta Da Piedale and Praia Da Rocha. You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Praia Dona Ana and Praia dos Tres Irmaos. Tavira has succeeded at escaping the flood of tourism that has affected other coastal Portuguese towns over the years.
You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Praia do Barril and Praia Verde. Explore hidden gems such as Cabanas de Tavira beach and Tavira Island. The capital of the island of Madeira for more than 500 years, Funchal represents a laid-back city made popular by its historical sites and climate.
Escape the urban bustle at Swim with Dolphins and Scuba & Snorkeling. Step off the beaten path and head to Canyoning & Rappelling Tours and Valley of the Nuns. There's lots more to do: hike along 25 Fontes Falls, take in the dramatic natural features at Cabo Girao, and kick back and relax at Praia de Garajau.

You can fly from Tavira to Funchal in 7.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and flight. Plan for a bit warmer nights when traveling from Tavira in November since evenings lows in Funchal dip to 19°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 8th (Fri) to allow enough time to travel to Ponta Delgada.

As the busy capital of São Miguel, Ponta Delgada represents the most visited place on the island. Known for its historical buildings, the city offers 17th- and 18th-century convents and churches, as well as cobbled pedestrian streets and hidden squares.
Step off the beaten path and head to Lagoa das Furnas and Praia de Santa Barbara. Escape the urban bustle at Salto do Prego and Salto do Cabrito. Change things up with a short trip to Mosteiros Beach in Mosteiros (about 44 minutes away). There's still lots to do: head outdoors with Jardim Antonio Borges, take some stellar pictures from Viewpoint of Black Stones, experience rural life at Ananas Santo Antonio, and see what you can catch with a fishing tour.

Getting from Funchal to Ponta Delgada by flight takes about 4.5 hours. The time zone difference moving from Western European Time (WET) to Azores Time (AZOT) is minus 1 hour. Expect little chillier weather when traveling from Funchal in November: highs in Ponta Delgada hover around 22°C, while lows dip to 17°C.
