Known for its Creole cuisine, rich musical tradition, and nearby swamps and plantations, New Orleans is one of the nation's oldest cities.
On the 16th (Fri), stop by Faulkner House Books, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. Louis Cathedral, then examine the collection at The National WWII Museum, and finally appreciate the history behind Scrap House - Katrina Memorial Sculpture.

Orange Beach exists solely as a tourist beach town, with a permanent population of less than 6,000.
Venture out of the city with trips to Fairhope (Fairhope Avenue, Tolstoy Park, &more), Fort Morgan Historic Site (in Fort Morgan) and Dauphin Island (Dauphin Island Sea Lab Estuarium & Fort Gaines). There's still lots to do: see what you can catch with a fishing tour, get in on the family fun at Adventure Island, whizz through the canopy at some of the top local zipline courses and adventure parks, and get engrossed in the history at Holmes Medical Museum.
