Resting at the meeting point of the Se Don and Mekong rivers, Pakse provides the ideal starting point from which to begin your discovery of southern Laos.
Kick off your visit on the 7th (Sat): don't miss a visit to Phu Salao, Golden Buddha, then take in the dramatic scenery at Bolaven Plateau, and then step off the mainland to explore Don Daeng Island. On the 8th (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: don't miss a visit to Dao Heuang Market, admire the sheer force of Tad Yuang Waterfalls, then wander the streets of Si Phan Don, and finally explore the ancient world of Wat Phu.
