Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
Kids will enjoy Tokyo Disneyland and Fukagawa Edo Museum. Sensō-ji and Tokyo National Museum are good opportunities to explore the local culture. And it doesn't end there: take a stroll through Odaiba, shop like a local with Asakusa, take in nature's colorful creations at Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, and see the interesting displays at Edo-Tokyo Museum.

Singapore, Singapore to Tokyo is an approximately 10.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or do a combination of flight, taxi, and train. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 1 hour traveling from Singapore to Tokyo. Traveling from Singapore in December, things will get colder in Tokyo: highs are around 14°C and lows about 4°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 10th (Tue) so you can travel to Sapporo.

A modern, bustling city known for its beer brewery, Sapporo attracts millions of visitors with its Snow Festival, during which elaborate ice and snow sculptures are exhibited all over town.
Start off your visit on the 11th (Wed): stroll through Okurayama Lookout, then get great views at Mt. Moiwa, and then explore the activities along Otaru Canal. On your second day here, take a stroll around Sapporo Underground Shopping Centre Aurora Town, then trek along Maruyama Hachijuhakksho Hiking Course, and then contemplate the waterfront views at Moerenuma Park.

Traveling by flight from Tokyo to Sapporo takes 4 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train, taxi, and flight; or do a combination of flight and train. While traveling from Tokyo, expect colder days and little chillier nights in Sapporo, ranging from highs of 0°C to lows of -2°C. Ranking as the most popular ski resort in Hokkaido, mountaintop Niseko-cho boasts great slopes and surprisingly vibrant nightlife.
Start off your visit on the 13th (Fri): hit the slopes at Niseko Outdoor Center and then fly down the slopes at Niseko Moiwa Ski Resort. Keep things going the next day: snap pictures at Niseko Ohashi Bridge, then hit the slopes at Niseko Annupuri International Ski Area, and then get engrossed in the history at Arishima Memorial Center.

Getting from Sapporo to Niseko-cho by car takes about 2 hours. In December, daily temperatures in Niseko-cho can reach 3°C, while at night they dip to -1°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 14th (Sat) to allow enough time to travel to Kanazawa.

On the 15th (Sun), step into the grandiose world of Kanazawa Castle, take a memorable drive along Chirihama Nagisa Driveway, explore the world behind art at 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, then steep yourself in history at Higashichaya Old Town, and finally examine the collection at Ochaya Art Museum. On the 16th (Mon), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: admire the verdant scenery at Aratama Valley, then contemplate the long history of Nomura Family Samurai House, then examine the collection at Ishikawa Prefectural Museum for Traditional Products and Crafts, and finally stroll around Kenrokuen Garden.

Start off your visit on the 17th (Tue): admire the masterpieces at Hida Takayama Museum of Art, hit the slopes at Ryokufu Resort Hida Nagareha, and then stop by Shofuen Matsuno Chaho. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: learn more about the world around you at Hida Minzoka Mura Folk Village (Hida no Sato), then get engrossed in the history at Shirakawago Gassho Zukuri Minkaen, then make a trip to The Historic Villages of Shirakawa-go Gassho Style Houses, and finally examine the collection at Takayama Festival Floats Exhibition Hall.

Museum-lovers will appreciate Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology and Tokugawa Art Museum. Visit Nagoya Castle and Atsuta Jingu Shrine for their historical value. Venture out of the city with trips to Gyaruri Momogusa (in Tajimi), Mt. Miyaji (in Toyokawa) and Inuyama Castle (in Inuyama).
