A major transit hub in western Japan, Okayama provides a convenient mid-point between Kyoto, Osaka, and Hiroshima.
You've now added AEON MALL Mall Okayama to your itinerary. Get outdoors at Tatsunokuchi Green Shower Forest and Mt. Uomi. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Okayama Castle and Kibitsu Shrine. Step out of Okayama to go to Kurashiki and see Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter, which is approximately 38 minutes away. There's lots more to do: admire the natural beauty at Okayama Korakuen Garden, get engrossed in the history at Inukai Bokudo Memorial Museum, and get outside with Okayama Prefectural Multipurpose Grounds.

The largest city on the island, Fukuoka formed through the merger of two former cities that had grown up either side of the Naka River.
Kick off your visit on the 29th (Sun): take an in-depth tour of Fukuoka City Archaeology Center, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Jotenji Temple, get engrossed in the history at Hakatamachiya Furusatokan, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kushida Shrine, and finally explore the world behind art at Fukuoka Asian Art Museum. On your second day here, admire the natural beauty at Komyozen-ji Temple, take in the spiritual surroundings of Dazaifu Tenman-gu, trek along Aburayama Shimin no Mori, then get engrossed in the history at Seinan Gakuin University Museum, and finally tour the pleasant surroundings at Ohori Park.
