Called the "White City" thanks to the color of its World Heritage-listed architectural landmarks, Tel Aviv serves as Israel's modern and cosmopolitan second city.
Step out of the city life by going to Tayelet and Safari Park. Eretz Israel Museum Complex (Haaretz Museum) and Tel Aviv Museum of Art will appeal to museum buffs. At the northern extreme of the Red Sea sits Eilat, a resort town popular with domestic and international tourists.
Kids will appreciate attractions like Dolphin Reef and Coral Beach Nature Reserve. Take a break from the city and head to Timna Park and Red Canyon. And it doesn't end there: meet the residents at Underwater Observatory Marine Park, take in the views from Harbour Bridge, have some family-friendly fun at Darkness, and discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour.

Traveling by combination of train, bus, and flight from Haifa to Eilat takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. When traveling from Haifa in December, plan for a bit warmer days in Eilat, with highs around 26°C, while nights are about the same with lows around 14°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 30th (Sat) to allow time for travel to Jerusalem.
