One of the country's major artistic and cultural centers, famed for its many annual festivals, Cork straddles the Lee River and boasts over 30 bridges.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Inchydoney Beach and Iago. Go for a jaunt from Cork to Kinsale to see Charles Fort about 34 minutes away. There's still lots to do: gain insight at University College Cork (UCC), browse the eclectic array of goods at The English Market, brush up on your knowledge of spirits at Jameson Distillery Midleton, and head off the coast to Spike Island.

Killarney

Continuously inhabited since the Neolithic period, Killarney draws visitors with its picturesque natural scenery, fine restaurants, and traditional pubs.
Escape the urban bustle at Banna Strand and Ring of Kerry. Step off the beaten path and head to Horse-Drawn Carriage Tours and Moll's Gap.
