A modern, bustling city known for its beer brewery, Sapporo attracts millions of visitors with its Snow Festival, during which elaborate ice and snow sculptures are exhibited all over town.
For shopping fun, head to Tanukikoji Shopping Street or Otaru Music Box Museum Main Building. Popular historic sites such as Sapporo Clock Tower and Former Hokkaido Government Office Building are in your itinerary. Take a break from Sapporo with a short trip to Otaru Canal in Otaru, about 46 minutes away. There's lots more to do: stroll through Mt. Moiwa, walk around Odori Park, get outside with Okurayama Lookout, and contemplate the long history of Hokkaido Jingu.
