Taxco de Alarcón is a small city and administrative center of a Taxco de Alarcón Municipality located in the Mexican state of Guerrero. Change things up with a short trip to Rio subterraneo Chontalcoatlan in Cacahuamilpa (about 52 minutes away). There's lots more to do: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Santa Prisca de Taxco, don't miss a visit to Teleferico de Montetaxco, browse the eclectic array of goods at Mercado de Plata o Tianguis Sabatino, and examine the collection at Museo Casa de Las Lagrimas o Casa Figueroa.

Drive from Taxco to Acapulco in 3.5 hours. Traveling from Taxco in November, expect Acapulco to be somewhat warmer, temps between 39°C and 27°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 5th (Sat) so you can travel to Zihuatanejo.

Zihuatanejo

Together with the adjecent town of Ixtapa, coastal Zihuatanejo remains one of southwestern Mexico's major tourist destinations.
Get out of town with these interesting Zihuatanejo side-trips: Ixtapa (Ixtapa Zihuatanejo By Luis De La Maza, Playa El Palmar, &more), ECOT (in Troncones) and Ayotlcalli Rescue and Conservation Center (in Playa Blanca). Do a combination of bus and taxi from Acapulco to Zihuatanejo in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive. In December in Zihuatanejo, expect temperatures between 36°C during the day and 25°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 11th (Fri) to allow enough time to fly back home.
