On the bank of the Mtkvari River and at the foot of Trialeti mountain range, Tbilisi's location has given the city strategic significance since it was founded in the 5th century.
When in Tbilisi, make a side trip to see Jvari Church in Mtskheta, approximately 38 minutes away. There's much more to do: take in the views from The Bridge of Peace, pause for some photo ops at Kartlis Deda, take a memorable drive along Rustaveli Avenue, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Tsminda Sameba Cathedral.

Bangkok, Thailand to Tbilisi is an approximately 13-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 3 hours traveling from Bangkok to Tbilisi.
