Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Take a break from Helsinki with a short trip to Nuuksio National Park in Espoo, about 48 minutes away. There's much more to do: contemplate the long history of Sea Fortress Suomenlinna, admire the landmark architecture of Helsinki Central Railway Station, don't miss a visit to Senate Square, and browse the exhibits of Seurasaari Island and Open-Air Museum.

Start off your visit on the 18th (Mon): deepen your understanding at Turku Cathedral, take an in-depth tour of Ett Hem Museum, explore the landscape on two wheels at Bike Rental - by Carfield, then explore the historical opulence of Turku Castle, and finally get lost in a book at Turku City Library. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Tampere: Ahvenisto (in Hameenlinna), Vitikkala Manor (in Jamsa) and Padasjoen Tuomastornit (in Padasjoki). An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
