The capital and largest city of Serbia, cosmopolitan Belgrade sits on the confluence of the Sava and the Danube rivers.
We've included these beaches for you: Ada Ciganlija and Ada lake. Get a sense of the local culture at Kalemegdan and Nikola Tesla Museum. Step out of Belgrade to go to Sremski Karlovci and see Podrum Probus, which is approximately 1 hour away. There's still lots to do: wander the streets of Skadarlija, get the lay of the land with Walking tours, admire the landmark architecture of Crkva Svetog Marka, and shop like a local with Knez Mihailova.

Istanbul, Turkey to Belgrade is an approximately 3-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. The time zone changes from Eastern European Time to Central European Time, which is usually a -2 hour difference. Traveling from Istanbul in August, expect a bit cooler with lows of 20°C in Belgrade. Cap off your sightseeing on the 17th (Mon) early enough to travel to Sarajevo.

Traveling by flight from Belgrade to Sarajevo takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Belgrade in August, plan for little chillier nights in Sarajevo, with lows around 16°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 19th (Wed) early enough to catch the train to Mostar.
