You can do a combination of flight and shuttle from San Andres Island to Santa Marta in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and bus. Traveling from San Andres Island in July, expect nights in Santa Marta to be about the same, around 30°C, while days are a bit warmer, around 39°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 13th (Mon) to allow enough time to drive to Cartagena.

The site of the continent's first Spanish colony, Cartagena retains much of its colonial flavor thanks to a World Heritage-listed old town, encircled by old walls and protected by imposing fortresses.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Aviario Nacional de Colombia and Plaza de San Diego. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Iglesia de la Trinidad and Walled City of Cartagena. Change things up with a short trip to Playa Blanca in Isla Baru (about 1h 05 min away). The adventure continues: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Templo de Santo Domingo, make a trip to Plaza de la Aduana, pause for some photo ops at La Gorda Gertrudis, and contemplate the long history of Plaza Santo Domingo.
