The site of the continent's first Spanish colony, Cartagena retains much of its colonial flavor thanks to a World Heritage-listed old town, encircled by old walls and protected by imposing fortresses.
Step out of Cartagena to go to Isla Baru and see Playa Blanca, which is approximately 1h 05 min away. And it doesn't end there: explore the historical opulence of Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Convent of Santa Cruz de la Popa, steep yourself in history at Plaza Santo Domingo, and make a trip to Plaza Bolivar.

On the 20th (Mon), take in the architecture and atmosphere at Catedral de Sal de Zipaquira, then explore the world behind art at Museo Botero del Banco de la Republica, and then stop by Vitrina Guayca.
