A low-rise, laid-back town of approximately 4,500 inhabitants, Margaret River serves as an ideal local base to explore the surrounding wine region.
Take a break from the city and head to Lake Cave and Meelup Beach. Step off the beaten path and head to Jewel Cave and Hamelin Bay. Get out of town with these interesting Margaret River side-trips: Dolphin & Whale Watching (in Busselton), Yallingup (Yallingup Beach & Ngilgi Cave) and Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse (in Augusta). Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
On the 23rd (Mon), see the interesting displays at National Anzac Centre, explore the striking landscape at The Gap and Natural Bridge, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Greens Pool. On the next day, don't miss a visit to Albany Wind Farm, stroll through Little Beach, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Middleton Beach.

The time zone changes from Australian Western Standard Time (AWST) to Australian Eastern Standard Time (Tasmania) (AEST), which is usually a 2 hour difference.
