Adelaide exists contentedly as a cultured, diverse, and attractive city with a laid-back center, leafy residential districts, and an underlying cosmopolitan atmosphere.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Stand-Up Paddleboarding and State Library of South Australia. Take a break from the city and head to Gorge Wildlife Park and Henley Beach. Get out of town with these interesting Adelaide side-trips: St Joseph's Catholic Church (in Port Willunga), McLaren Vale (Fox Creek Wines, Primo Estate, &more) and St George's Anglican Church (in Gawler). There's still lots to do: examine the collection at National Motor Museum, get engrossed in the history at Migration Museum, take in the architecture and atmosphere at St Peter's Cathedral, and get the adrenaline pumping with an extreme tour.
