The capital of Wales, Cardiff is a very green city indeed, boasting more green space per person than any other place in the country.
Explore Cardiff's surroundings by going to Sgwd yr Eira (in Brecon Beacons National Park), Gower Peninsula (in Swansea) and Big Pit National Coal Museum (in Blaenavon). There's lots more to do: see the interesting displays at St Fagans National Museum of History, explore the historical opulence of Cardiff Castle, take a leisurely stroll along Cardiff Bay Wales, and sample the fine beverages at Penderyn Distillery.

Wrexham is the largest town in the north of Wales and an administrative, commercial, retail and educational centre. Kick off your visit on the 19th (Sun): explore the historical opulence of National Trust - Chirk Castle, then make a trip to Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, and then steep yourself in history at Erddig. On your second day here, take in nature's colorful creations at Caerau Uchaf Gardens, then identify plant and animal life at North Wales Owl Sanctuary, then grab your bike and head to Nercwys Forest, and finally take a peaceful walk through Maes-y-Pant / Marford Quarry.

Get out of town with these interesting Porthmadog side-trips: Cwm Idwal National Nature Reserve (in Bethesda), Barmouth (St. John's Church & Dolphin Sculpture & Water Feature) and Caernarfon (Caernarfon Castle & Beacon Climbing Centre).
