Many urban centers call themselves "Garden City," but thanks to its many manicured parks filled with native and exotic plants, Victoria probably deserves than moniker more than most.
Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Ogden Point Terminal & Breakwater and Bateman Foundation Gallery of Nature. Head to Russell Books and Beehive Wool Shopfor plenty of shopping. When in Victoria, make a side trip to see Sooke Potholes Provincial Park in Sooke, approximately Sooke away. There's lots more to do: don't miss a visit to Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Sites, ponder the world of politics at Government House, examine the collection at The Maritime Museum of British Columbia, and stop by Tanners Books.

The time zone changes from Eastern Standard Time (EST) to Pacific Standard Time (PST), which is usually a -3 hour difference. In August, Victoria is slightly colder than New York City - with highs of 67°F and lows of 55°F. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 17th (Wed) to allow enough time to drive to Campbell River.

Cap off your sightseeing on the 19th (Fri) early enough to go by car to Parksville.

Kick off your visit on the 26th (Fri): trek along Rainforest Trail and then take a memorable tour with Tours. On your second day here, stop by House of Himwitsa, look for gifts at Dockside Smoked Fish Store, then add some adventure to your tour with a kayaking and canoeing tour, and finally stop by Mermaid Tales Bookshop.
