Land of Castles

A city of booming industry with a strong emphasis on leisure and cultural involvement, Valladolid is also known for its historical heritage and medieval feel.
Get a sense of the local culture at Alcazar of Segovia and Museo Nacional de Escultura. Take a break from the city and head to Hoces del Rio Duraton Natural Park and Sierra de Guadarrama National Park. Get out of town with these interesting Valladolid side-trips: Burgos (Cimborrio, Iglesia de San Nicolas de Bari, &more), Salamanca (St. Stephen's Convent (Convento de San Esteban), Ieronimus, &more) and Territorio Artlanza (in Quintanilla del Agua). The adventure continues: do a tasting at Bodegas Y Vinedos PradoRey, explore the historical opulence of Castillo de Coca, pause for some serene contemplation at Iglesia de Santa Maria, and contemplate the long history of Casco Historico de Avila.
