A city of booming industry with a strong emphasis on leisure and cultural involvement, Valladolid is also known for its historical heritage and medieval feel.
Museo Nacional de Escultura and Palacio De Gaudi will appeal to museum buffs. Step off the beaten path and head to New Cathedral (Catedral Nueva) and Monasterio de las Huelgas. Get out of town with these interesting Valladolid side-trips: Burgos (Territorio Artlanza, Cimborrio, & more), Bodegas y vinedos PRADOREY (in Gumiel Del Mercado) and Salamanca (St. Stephen's Convent (Convento de San Esteban), Ieronimus, & more). The adventure continues: pause for some serene contemplation at Catedral de Nuestra Senora de la Asuncion, learn about winemaking at Bodegas Legaris, explore the world behind art at Museo Oriental, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Iglesia de San Pablo.
