Step out of the city life by going to Hapuna Beach State Recreation Area and Swim with Dolphins. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Fishing Charters & Tours and Scuba & Snorkeling. Take a break from Kailua-Kona with a short trip to Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park in Honaunau, about 44 minutes away. There's more to do: kick back and relax at Manini'owali Beach (Kua Bay) and take in the awesome beauty at Mauna Kea.

On the 24th (Fri), brush up on your knowledge of spirits at Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine, then enjoy some diversion at Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster, and then let the river carry you with a rafting and tubing tour. On the 25th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: kick your exploration up a notch at some of the top local zipline courses and adventure parks, then identify plant and animal life at Roaring Fork, and then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Clingmans Dome.

The time zone changes from Mountain Standard Time to Eastern Standard Time, which is usually a 2 hour difference. Traveling from Yellowstone National Park in July, you will find days in Gatlinburg are a bit warmer (87°F), and nights are much warmer (69°F).
