A major center of technology nicknamed "Silicon Valley North," Ottawa offers visitors a modern flavor with its range of trendy hotels, shops, and restaurants.
Start off your visit on the 18th (Wed): pause for some photo ops at Famous Five Monument, contemplate the long history of Rideau Hall, and then kick back and relax at Westboro Beach. On your second day here, make a trip to Ottawa Locks, steep yourself in history at Mackenzie King Estate, then snap pictures at Wakefield Covered Bridge, and finally don't miss a visit to Carbide Willson Ruins.

You can do a combination of ferry and flight from Toronto to Ottawa in 3.5 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a train. Traveling from Toronto in September, expect a bit cooler with lows of 51°F in Ottawa. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 19th (Thu) to allow time to drive to Montreal.
