The name given to the most northerly portion of the Northern Territory, the Top End region encompasses a variety of landscapes, from oceanic coastline to parched desert to the urban sprawl of state capital Darwin. Eucalyptus trees and patches of rainforest dot the area, as do a number of rivers that form the major part of the state’s wetlands, giving Top End a practical as well as scenic significance.
