Overlooking scenic Georges Bay, St Helens is the largest town on the northeast coast of Tasmania, ranking among Australia's top destinations for recreational game fishing.
On the 27th (Sat), relax in the rural setting at Pyengana Dairy, browse for treasures at The Shop in the Bush, kick back and relax at Bay of Fires Conservation Area, then take some stellar pictures from St Helens Point Conservation Area, then view the masterpieces at East Coast Art Supplies & Gallery, and finally admire the sheer force of St Columba Waterfall.

Brisbane to St Helens is an approximately 6.5- hour combination of flight and car. You can also drive. Plan for slightly colder temperatures traveling from Brisbane in March, with highs in St Helens at 26°C and lows at 11°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 27th (Sat) to allow enough time to drive to Coles Bay.

Overlooking one of Tasmania's most scenic strips of coastline and serving as the gateway to Freycinet National Park, Coles Bay is home to just 500 permanent residents.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Freycinet National Park and Boat Tours & Water Sports. Change things up with these side-trips from Coles Bay: Melshell Oyster Shack (in Dolphin Sands) and East Coast Natureworld (in Bicheno). There's still lots to do: don't miss a visit to Mt Amos Climb, do a tasting at Devil's Corner Cellar Door, enjoy the sea views from Cape Tourville Lighthouse, and get a dose of the wild on a nature and wildlife tour.

Get out of town with these interesting Hobart side-trips: Russell Falls (in Mount Field National Park), Tessellated Pavement (in Eaglehawk Neck) and Taranna (Federation Artisan Chocolate - Port Arthur & Tasmanian Devil Unzoo).
