Chur or Coire is the capital and largest town of the Swiss canton of Grisons and lies in the Grisonian Rhine Valley, where the Rhine turns towards the north, in the northern part of the canton. Get in touch with nature at Heidi's Village and Lake St. Moritz. Visit Old Town Chur and Landwasser Viaduct for their historical value. Get out of town with these interesting Chur side-trips: Spas (in Vals) and Lac de Claus (in Sedrun). There's more to do: stop by AlpenHirt and contemplate the waterfront views at Caumasee.

Martigny is the capital of the French-speaking district of Martigny in the canton of Valais in Switzerland. Burgkirche Raron and Chateau de Tourbillon will appeal to history buffs. Get some cultural insight at Fondation Pierre Gianadda and Abbaye de Saint-Maurice d'Agaune. Explore Martigny's surroundings by going to Fondation Pierre Arnaud (in Lens), Felsenkirche Eglise St.Michael (in Raron) and Ski Service (in Verbier). Escape the urban bustle at Gornergrat and Zermatt-Matterhorn Ski Paradise. Get a sense of the local culture at Matterhorn Museum - Zermatlantis and Mountaineers' Cemetery. Take a break from Zermatt with a short trip to Spas in Leukerbad, about 1h 15 min away.
