Madrid is known for its cultural and artistic heritage, lively nightlife, and a dynamic culinary scene.
Visit Royal Palace of Madrid and Plaza Mayor for their historical value. You'll explore and learn at Prado National Museum and Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza. There's still lots to do: admire the striking features of Retiro Park, admire the masterpieces at Museo Lazaro Galdiano, and examine the collection at Lope de Vega Museum.

Granada boasts numerous well-preserved examples of exquisite Moorish architecture, not the least of which is the Alhambra, an ancient citadel and royal palace.
Alhambra and Generalife are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Visit Albayzin and Saint Jerome Monastery for their historical value. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Granada: Nerja (Playa El Salon & Playa de la Alberquilla). There's still lots to do: appreciate the extensive heritage of Mirador de San Nicolas and take in the spiritual surroundings of Monasterio Cartuja.

You can fly from Madrid to Granada in 4 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In October in Granada, expect temperatures between 28°C during the day and 14°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 7th (Mon) so you can drive to Ronda.
