Elche, or Elx, is a town located in the comarca of Baix Vinalopó, Spain. On the 22nd (Tue), pause for some serene contemplation at Parroquia de San Pedro, take in the spiritual surroundings of Santuario Santa Magdalena, then admire the natural beauty at El Palmeral, then see the interesting displays at Museo Arqueologico e historico de Elche (MAHE), and finally pause for some serene contemplation at Basilica de Santa Maria. On your second day here, get engrossed in the history at Museo Escolar de Pusol, then get engrossed in the history at Parque Arqueologico la Alcudia, and then kick back and relax at Playa de Bolnuevo.

You can take a train from Cuenca to Elche in 3 hours. Other options are to drive; or do a combination of train and bus. In October in Elche, expect temperatures between 29°C during the day and 18°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 24th (Thu) to allow enough time to drive to Antequera.
