South Sulawesi covers the southern peninsula of the iconically shaped island of Sulawesi. The culture of the seafaring and farming natives permeates the tourism atmosphere here that has spread across the island, with a unique philosophy, dress, and architectural style. Small fishing villages reflect native life along the coast, even offering local specialities such as Bolu (a milkfish dish). Inland you'll find agricultural settlements that offer dishes like Pallubasa (a dish made from offal).
