One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.
Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Myeongdong Shopping Street and Dongdaemun Market. Gyeongbokgung Palace and Insadong are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Step out of Seoul with an excursion to Nami Island in Chuncheon--about 1h 40 min away. There's still lots to do: admire the landmark architecture of Changdeokgung Palace, identify plant and animal life at DMZ Spy Tour - Day Tours, brush up on your military savvy at The War Memorial of Korea, and get engrossed in the history at National Museum of Korea.
