Emerald City

Nicknamed the "Emerald City" because of its abundant evergreen trees, Seattle is the cultural and business center of the Pacific Northwest, as well as a popular holiday destination.
Get out of town with these interesting Seattle side-trips: Sehmel Homestead Park (in Gig Harbor), Kirkland (ILovekickboxing & Waverly Beach Park) and Tacoma (Washington State History Museum & 5 Mile Drive & Trails). There's lots more to do: explore the world behind art at Chihuly Garden and Glass, enjoy breathtaking views from Space Needle, take a leisurely stroll along Hiram M. Bayou City

Although urban sprawl remains synonymous with Houston, most of the city's tourist attractions lie within the relatively small downtown area, surrounded by diverse neighborhoods housing the nation's biggest African-American, Asian-American, and Latino communities.
Explore Houston's surroundings by going to Toubin Park (in Brenham), George Bush Presidential Library and Museum (in College Station) and St. Anthony Catholic Church (in Bryan). There's much more to do: examine the collection at Space Center Houston, get curious at The Houston Museum of Natural Science, browse the exhibits of Cockrell Butterfly Center, and relax in the rural setting at Moorhead's Blueberry Farm.
