Fort William is the second largest settlement in the Highlands of Scotland with around 10,000 inhabitants – and the largest town: only the city of Inverness is larger.Fort William is a major tourist centre, with Glen Coe just to the south, Aonach Mòr to the east and Glenfinnan to the west, on the Road to the Isles. Venture out of the city with trips to Arisaig (Arisaig Sea Kayak Centre & Camusdarach Beach), Glenfinnan Viaduct (in Glenfinnan) and Highland Titles Nature Reserve (in Duror). And it doesn't end there: appreciate the views at Glen Coe, see the interesting displays at West Highland Museum, take in the dramatic scenery at Steall Waterfall, and brush up on your military savvy at The Commando Museum.

Inverness, often described as the Gateway to the Highlands, is a thriving commercial and industrial center.
