Inverness, often described as the Gateway to the Highlands, is a thriving commercial and industrial center.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Culloden Battlefield and Fort George. Take a break from the city and head to Nature & Wildlife Tours and Cairngorms National Park. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Inverness: Aigas Field Centre (in Beauly), River Rafting & Tubing (in Aviemore) and Glen Affric National Nature Reserve (in Cannich). Durness is a village and civil parish in the north-west Highlands of Scotland. Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Durness Beach and Sango Bay.
