Inverness, often described as the Gateway to the Highlands, is a thriving commercial and industrial center.
Head to Scottish Flair Art Gallery and The Granite Housefor plenty of shopping. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Culloden Battlefield and Glenfinnan Viaduct. Explore Inverness' surroundings by going to Fort William (Steall Waterfall & Ben Nevis), Nevis Range Mountain Resort (in Torlundy) and Blair Castle and Hercules Gardens (in Blair Atholl). Kick off your visit on the 16th (Sun): explore the galleries of Tomb of the Eagles, then pause for some serene contemplation at Italian Chapel on Lamb Holm, and then take in the spiritual surroundings of Saint Magnus Cathedral.
