Fort William is the second largest settlement in the Highlands of Scotland with around 10,000 inhabitants – and the largest town: only the city of Inverness is larger.Fort William is a major tourist centre, with Glen Coe just to the south, Aonach Mòr to the east and Glenfinnan to the west, on the Road to the Isles. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Fort William: Camusdarach Beach (in Arisaig), Highland Titles Nature Reserve (in Duror) and Morar Beach (in Morar). And it doesn't end there: take a memorable tour with Tours, brush up on your military savvy at The Commando Museum, have fun at Ice Factor, and look for all kinds of wild species at Loch Linnhe Picnic Area.

Thurso is a town and former burgh on the north coast of the Highland council area of Scotland.
Start off your visit on the 24th (Fri): get advice or help at Queen Elizabeth Castle of Mey Trust, get great views at Duncansby Head, then experience rural life at Puffin Croft Petting Farm & Farm Shop, then get engrossed in the history at Wick Heritage Museum, and finally take a tour of Caithness Seacoast Ltd. Keep things going the next day: take an in-depth tour of Caithness Horizons Museumand Art Gallery, don't miss a visit to Whaligoe Steps, step into the grandiose world of Castle Sinclair Girnigoe, then visit a coastal fixture at Dunnet Head Lighthouse, and finally take some stellar pictures from Dunnet Head.

Durness is a village and civil parish in the north-west Highlands of Scotland. Venture out of the city with trips to Sandwood Bay Beach (in Kinlochbervie) and Handa Island Wildlife Reserve (in Handa Island).
