Nestled in a kingdom of mountains and fjords, the scenic village of Flam serves as a good base for exploring some of the most beautiful sights of Norwegian nature.
Borgund Stave Church and Bakka Church will appeal to history buffs. Step out of the city life by going to Naeroyfjord and Kjelfossen Waterfall. Get out of town with these interesting Flam side-trips: Gamle Laerdalsoeyri (in Laerdalsoyri) and Vindhellavegen (in Borgund). There's still lots to do: take in panoramic vistas at Stegastein Lookout, hike along Flam Hiking AS, take in the dramatic scenery at Brekkefossen, and pause for some serene contemplation at Flam Church.

Oslo to Flam is an approximately 5-hour car ride. You can also do a combination of flight and bus; or take a train. Traveling from Oslo in July, you will find days in Flam are a bit cooler (20°C), and nights are about the same (11°C). Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 4th (Sat) to allow time for travel to Geiranger.

Surrounded by pristine nature, the scenic village of Geiranger serves as a gateway to some of Norway's most famous landscapes.
Get in touch with nature at Geiranger Fjord and Active Geiranger. Change things up with a short trip to Eidsvatnet in Eidsdal (about 38 minutes away). Next up on the itinerary: get great views at Geiranger Skywalk - Dalsnibba, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Geiranger Church, take in breathtaking views at Flydalsjuvet, and look for gifts at Geiranger Sjokolade.

You can do a combination of bus and ferry from Flam to Geiranger in 9.5 hours. Expect a daytime high around 21°C in July, and nighttime lows around 12°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 8th (Wed) so you can travel to Jostedal.

Traveling by combination of ferry and bus from Geiranger to Jostedal takes 5.5 hours. In July in Jostedal, expect temperatures between 21°C during the day and 14°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 10th (Fri) to allow time to take a bus to Alesund.

Alesund

A lively seaport renowned for its high concentration of Art Nouveau buildings, Alesund stretches over seven islands and features a compact city center almost entirely surrounded by water.
Get some historical perspective at Aalesund Church and Alnes Lighthouse. Visiting Romsdalseggen and Aksla Mountain will get you outdoors. There's lots more to do: stroll through Hike Sukkertoppen the Sugar Top, examine the collection at Jugendstilsenteret and Kunstmuseet Kube, appreciate the history behind Statute of Joachim Ronneberg, and learn more about the world around you at Sunnmoere Museum.

Traveling by bus from Jostedal to Alesund takes 4.5 hours. July in Alesund sees daily highs of 19°C and lows of 13°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 14th (Tue) early enough to travel to Jotunheimen.
