Founded in 1535 by Spanish explorer Francisco Pizarro, Lima represents an interesting blend of modern attractions and preserved colonial architecture, much of it clustered in the World Heritage-listed city center.
Take a break from the city and head to Playa Santa Maria del Mar and Playa Costa Verde. You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Playa Penascal and Balneario Embajadores. Step out of Lima to go to Punta Hermosa and see El Silencio, which is approximately 1h 15 min away. There's much more to do: take a stroll through Miraflores, pause for some serene contemplation at Iglesia y Convento de San Francisco, sample the tasty concoctions at Cerveceria Nuevo Mundo, and stop by Barranco.

Singapore, Singapore to Lima is an approximately 28-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and flight; or do a combination of train and flight. Traveling from Singapore to Lima, you'll gain 13 hours due to the time zone difference. Traveling from Singapore in January, things will get a bit cooler in Lima: highs are around 31°C and lows about 24°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 25th (Sat) so you can go by car to Paracas.

A port town largely devoted to tourism, Paracas serves as a popular starting point for exploration of Peru's south coast.
Get in touch with nature at Supay Beach and Playa de la Mina. We've included these beaches for you: Playa El Raspon and Playa Mendieta. There's much more to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Yumaque Beach, stroll through Playa Roja, learn about winemaking at Bodega 1615, and fly like a bird with a parasailing or paragliding tour.

You can drive from Lima to Paracas in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In January, plan for daily highs up to 31°C, and evening lows to 22°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 28th (Tue) early enough to travel to Machu Picchu.
