Hexham is a market town and civil parish in Northumberland, England, south of the River Tyne, and was the administrative centre for the Tynedale district from 1974 to 2009. Discover out-of-the-way places like Falconry Days and Chesters Roman Fort. Explore Hexham's surroundings by going to Dumfries (Robert Burns House, Old Bridge House Museum, & more), Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre (in Kielder) and Castle Crag (in Grange-in-Borrowdale). Alnwick is a relatively large market town in north Northumberland, England, of which it is the county town. Step off the beaten path and head to Embleton Bay and Alnmouth Beach. Take a break from Alnwick with a short trip to Cheviot Hills in Wooler, about 40 minutes away. And it doesn't end there: enjoy the sand and surf at Low Newton by the Sea Beach, explore the historical opulence of Edlingham Castle and Edlingham Church, stroll through St Aiden Beach, and get engrossed in the history at Bailiffgate Museum and Gallery.
