Norfolk

— 14 nights
Norfolk formed around a natural harbor that’s home to the world’s largest naval base, which helped cement the city as a keystone for strategic military planning and government.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Barker House and Cupola House. Take a break from the city and head to Carova Beach and Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge. Venture out of the city with trips to Richmond (Virginia Museum of History & Culture & Fan District), Plymouth (God's Creation Wildlife Museum, Bear-Ology Black Bear Museum, &more) and Somerset Place State Historic Site (in Creswell). There's much more to do: take a tour of Battleship Wisconsin at Nauticus, get engrossed in the history at Historic Hope Plantation, see the interesting displays at U.S. Army Transportation Museum, and stroll the grounds of Blandford Church and Cemetery.

To find other places to visit, where to stay, photos, and tourist information, refer to the Norfolk trip itinerary app.

May in Norfolk sees daily highs of 77°F and lows of 60°F at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 10th (Mon) so you can travel back home.
