One of Morocco's imperial cities, Meknes draws visitors with an abundance of historic monuments and impressive Moorish-style architecture.
Start off your visit on the 20th (Tue): delve into the distant past at Archaeological Site of Volubilis, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Bou Inania Medersa, and then steep yourself in history at Meknes Medina. On your second day here, see the interesting displays at Dar Jamai Museum, contemplate the long history of El Hedim Square, then learn about winemaking at Volubilia-Domaine de la Zouina, and finally do a tasting at Chateau Roslane.

On a vacation in Rabat, a World Heritage Site and Morocco's capital, you can discover the city's long and rich history while enjoying a laidback atmosphere, less touristy than in the booming Casablanca and Marrakech.
Do your shopping at Espace Expressions CDG and Au Grain de Sesame. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Kasbah des Oudaias and Mausoleum of Mohammad V. There's lots more to do: stroll the grounds of Chellah, pause for some serene contemplation at Cathedrale Saint-Pierre, examine the collection at The Currency Museum of the Bank Al-Maghrib, and make a trip to Rabat Old Town.

Drive from Meknes to Rabat in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train. When traveling from Meknes in August, plan for cooler days in Rabat, with highs around 23°C, while nights are about the same with lows around 23°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 24th (Sat) to allow enough time to take a train to Casablanca.

The port of Casablanca, Morocco's largest city and economic hub, represents the country's beating heart, established as a French protectorate in 1912.
Hassan II Mosque and L'Eglise du Sacre-Coeur will appeal to history buffs. Step off the beaten path and head to Haouzia Beach and Morocco Mall. Change things up with a short trip to Shrine of Rabbi Abraham Moul Niss in Azemmour (about 1h 20 min away). And it doesn't end there: enjoy the sand and surf at Plage Lalla Meriem, take in the spiritual surroundings of Notre Dame de Lourdes, tour the pleasant surroundings at Ain Diab, and make a trip to Mahkama du Pacha.

You can take a train from Rabat to Casablanca in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive. When traveling from Rabat in August, plan for somewhat warmer days in Casablanca, with highs around 32°C, while nights are about the same with lows around 24°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 28th (Wed) to allow time for the car ride to Marrakech.
