The glaciers from which Glacier National Park takes its name mostly dissipated eons ago, but they left behind a scoured landscape of high and steep mountain peaks, sparkling lakes, lush alpine meadows, and thick forests.
On the 20th (Mon), hike the day away at Highline Trail. Next up on the itinerary: take a memorable drive along Going-to-the-Sun Road, admire the sheer force of Silver Staircase Falls, trek along Iceberg Lake Trail, and take in the dramatic natural features at Grinnell Glacier.

Kahului to Glacier National Park is an approximately 10.5-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 3 hours traveling from Kahului to Glacier National Park. Traveling from Kahului in September, things will get colder in Glacier National Park: highs are around 70°F and lows about 40°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 20th (Mon) so you can drive to West Yellowstone.

West Yellowstone

The town of West Yellowstone has served as a gateway to Yellowstone National Park since the early 1900s.
On the 21st (Tue), stop by Send it Home, find something for the whole family at Yellowstone Big Gun Fun, then stroll through Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center, and finally get a new perspective on things with Boat Tours & Water Sports. Here are some ideas for day two: take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Lone Peak and then contemplate the waterfront views at Yellowstone River.

Bozeman is a city in and the county seat of Gallatin County, Montana, United States, in the southwestern part of the state. Change things up with a short trip to Yellowstone Guidelines in Livingston (about 30 minutes away). There's still lots to do: take an in-depth tour of Museum of the Rockies, have fun and explore at Montana Science Center, see what you can catch with a fishing tour, and get to know the fascinating history of Downtown Bozeman.

You can drive from West Yellowstone to Bozeman in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of shuttle and bus. Prepare for somewhat warmer weather when traveling from West Yellowstone in September: high temperatures in Bozeman hover around 72°F and lows are around 41°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 25th (Sat) early enough to travel to Hardin.

Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 27th (Mon): take in the dramatic natural features at Pompeys Pillar National Monument and then take an in-depth tour of Big Horn County Historical Museum.
