Australia's Garden City

The state of Victoria crown jewel, Melbourne boasts shaded streets, leafy residential neighborhoods, vibrant street life, and a picturesque city center.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Point Nepean National Park and Frankston Beach. We've included these beaches for you: Bells Beach and Rye Beach. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Melbourne: Werribee (Werribee River Park & Victoria State Rose Garden), Geelong (Steampacket Gardens & Geelong Botanical Gardens) and Point Lonsdale Lighthouse (in Point Lonsdale). Spend the 28th (Tue) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. Spend the 1st (Sat) on a tasty journey with a beer tour and tasting. There's lots more to do: enjoy the sea views from Cape Schanck Lighthouse, take in nature's colorful creations at Dandenong Ranges Botanic Garden, identify plant and animal life at Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne, and contemplate the long history of William Ricketts Sanctuary.

If you are flying in from India, the closest major aiport is Melbourne International Airport. In January in Melbourne, expect temperatures between 32°C during the day and 17°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 11th (Tue) early enough to travel back home.
