Fort William

Fort William is the second largest settlement in the Highlands of Scotland with around 10,000 inhabitants – and the largest town: only the city of Inverness is larger.Fort William is a major tourist centre, with Glen Coe just to the south, Aonach Mòr to the east and Glenfinnan to the west, on the Road to the Isles. Step out of the city life by going to Steall Waterfall and Nature & Wildlife Tours. Change things up with these side-trips from Fort William: Ariundle Oakwood National Nature Reserve (in Strontian), Loch Linnhe (in Onich) and Glenfinnan (Glenfinnan Viaduct, Glenfinnan Viaduct Trail, & more). Kilchoan is a village on the Scottish peninsula of Ardnamurchan, in Lochaber, Highland. Take a break from the city and head to Morar Beach and Circular Walk. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Kilchoan: John O' Groats (in Airor), Castle Tioram (in Doirlinn) and Glenuig (Samalaman Beach, Smirisary Walk, & more).
