The capital of Lithuania, Vilnius, boasts an impressive medieval quarter--one of the continent's largest and a World Heritage Site with almost 2,000 historical buildings.
Museum-lovers will get to explore KGB Museum (Genocido Auku Muziejus) and Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. Get a sense of the local culture at St. Anne's Church and Gate of Dawn. Situated between the Neris and Nemunas rivers, Kaunas is known for its old town, which, though smaller than the capital's, is in much better condition.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Ninth Fort and Kaunas Castle. Museum-lovers will get to explore Raudondvaris Dvaras and Museum of History of Lithuanian Medicine and Pharmacy. Step out of Kaunas to go to Siluva and see Shrine of Our Lady of Siluva, which is approximately 1h 15 min away. And it doesn't end there: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul, contemplate the long history of Kaunas Cathedral of the Annunciation, take in the spiritual surroundings of Pazaislis Monastery, and admire the striking features of Kaunas Town Hall.

Šiauliai is the fourth largest city in Lithuania, with a population of 133,900. On the 7th (Tue), see the interesting displays at Pakruojis Manor Living Museum and then examine the collection at Joniskis Basketball Museum. Kretinga is a city in Klaipėda County, Lithuania. On the 9th (Thu), brush up on your military savvy at Memel Nord, then pause for some serene contemplation at Evangelical Lutheran Church, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Ensemble of the Franciscan monastery and Church, and finally get engrossed in the history at Kretinga Museum.
