Long regarded as a gray and traffic-congested provincial town with little tourist appeal, Pristina today possesses a youthful vibrance and a newfound sense of sophistication, as the result of the city's large community of foreign functionaries.
Get a sense of the local culture at Ethnographic Museum (Muzeu Etnologjik) and Patriarchate of Pec. Get outdoors at Via Ferrata Ari and Rugova Canyon. Get out of town with these interesting Pristina side-trips: Pec (Sleeping beauty Cave, White Drin Waterfall, & more), Mirusha Waterfalls (in Klina) and Gracanica (Ulpiana & Gracanica Monastery). There's much more to do: steep yourself in history at Medieval Monuments in Kosovo, pause for some serene contemplation at Katedrale Nënë Tereza, take an in-depth tour of Kosovo Museum, and explore the fascinating underground world of Marble Cave.
