Shop till you drop at Ginza and Asakusa. Popular historic sites such as Asakusa Shrine and Sengaku-ji Temple are in your itinerary. Have a day of magic on the 4th (Fri) at Tokyo Disneyland. Near the confluence of the Chikuma and Sai rivers, Nagano combines historic sites with nearby forested alps dotted with shrines.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Togakushi Folk Museum Togakushi Ninja Museum and Zenko-ji Temple. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Myoko Kogen and Nozawaonsen Sotoyu Nakao Hot Spring. Explore Nagano's surroundings by going to Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park (in Yamanouchi-machi) and Akakan Ski Area (in Myoko).

Plan for little chillier temperatures traveling from Tokyo in October, with highs in Nagano at 21°C and lows at 14°C. Situated on Kanagawa's Sagami Bay, the city of Fujisawa serves as the gateway to beaches on the small island of Enoshima, as well as the sandy coast and temples of nearby Kamakura.
Get outdoors at Enoshima Island and Koajiro Forest. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine and Kannon Museum. There's still lots to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kōtoku-in, steep yourself in history at Hase-dera Temple, admire the striking features of Maruyamainari Shrine, and take an in-depth tour of Kamakura Museum of National Treasures.

You can take a train from Nagano to Fujisawa in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Nagano in October, expect a bit warmer with lows of 19°C in Fujisawa. On the 12th (Sat), you'll have the morning to explore before heading off to Yokohama.
