A city jurisdiction formed after the merger of several towns in 2005, Miyakojima spans six linked-up islands.
Start off your visit on the 22nd (Mon): take in the views from Kurima Bridge, then kick back and relax at Yonaha Maehama Beach, then take in the views from Irabu Ohashi, and finally kick back and relax at Sunayama Beach. On the 23rd (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: kick back and relax at Toguchi no Hama, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Aragusuku Beach, and then visit a coastal fixture at Higashi Hennazaki Lighthouse.

Ishigaki, the most populous island in the chain, features the country's southernmost city and acts as a transport hub for exploring the landmasses that surround.
On the 24th (Wed), tour the pleasant surroundings at Kondoi Beach, then walk around Kabira Park, and then kick back and relax at Yonehara Beach. On your second day here, get outside with Outdoor Activities, then enjoy the sea views from Cape Hirakubozaki, and then take in panoramic vistas at Tamatorizaki Observatory.

On the 26th (Fri), step off the mainland to explore Nokonoshima Island, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Torin-ji Temple, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Hakozaki Shrine, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Tochoji Temple, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kushida Shrine.

Traveling by flight from Ishigaki to Fukuoka takes 4.5 hours. Prepare for a bit cooler weather when traveling from Ishigaki in June: high temperatures in Fukuoka hover around 30°C and lows are around 23°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 26th (Fri) early enough to catch the train to Osaka.
